Project Update – 1/4/2015

The Celebrating Community Project continues moving forward as we work toward project completion in Fall, 2015.

All thirteen honorees have been selected by the committees representing each group. The artist, Mark Avery, continues making progress on the clay models, which then go to the foundry for mold-making, bronze pouring, chasing, etc. Progress has also been made with fabrication of the large abstract steel sculpture, which may be installed on site Spring, 2015.

Our fundraising continues to develop and we now have a formal fundraising committee!! The steering committee is appreciative and honored to have this group of citizens join us in our goal of having the Celebrating Community Project become a reality.

Celebrating Community Foundation is very grateful for the monetary donations and in-kind support we have received from many foundations, businesses and individuals in the Siouxland community. The support received is getting us closer to our fundraising goals. Thank you so much, we could not do it without you!!

Again, thanks to everyone who supports our project, and kudos to all those who advocate for equality and justice in Siouxland!
